The nationally accredited State of New Jersey Certified Public Manager® Program is administered by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (CSC) and delivered by Rutgers University–Newark’s School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA).
NJ CPM Mission Statement: The New Jersey Certified Public Manager® Program develops public and nonprofit managers, administrators, and supervisors into efficient, effective, and ethical organizational leaders.
Participants will gain the knowledge needed to tackle complex organizational challenges, manage their day-to-day operations more effectively, and grow as leaders. The program also provides a framework upon which leaders can build and apply throughout their career.
CPM graduates are awarded 30.2 CEU’s and may apply up to 15 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits toward a degree at Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration. Learn more at CPM to SPAA Degree Pathway.

The New Jersey Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program has returned to in person instruction. We are committed to providing a high-quality CPM program within a safe environment in which to operate. In the event the program cannot continue in-person, we will pivot to a virtual learning class.
IN PERSON COHORTS Spring 2024
- Freehold, Monmouth County -Thursdays starting March 20, 2024
- Wayne, Passaic County – Wednesdays starting May 8, 2024
VIRTUAL COHORT: FULL
- Spring 2024
One day per week for 10 months, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM via Zoom, plus 3 hours independent study
ALL COHORTS MEET THE NATIONAL CPM REQUIREMENT OF 300 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION.
